  • Our approach

MindSync Psychology uses evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Therapy, Couples Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy, and mindfulness. Sessions aim to create a comfortable, caring space where children and adolescents can explore their inner selves, cultivate resilience, and work toward improved wellbeing and personal growth. The founder, Anya Grkovic, brings a heartfelt and supportive approach to sessions, incorporating creative and artistic elements to enrich the therapeutic experience. Each initial consultation lasts approximately 50 minutes and focuses on understanding your current situation, its context, and developing a personalised treatment plan tailored to your specific concerns and aspirations.

  • Working with families

Parents are involved from the outset—to book a consultation, families email the practice or submit an online enquiry with a brief description of their child and main concerns. For assessments, parents participate in an initial call to provide background and developmental information, and receive a separate 30-minute feedback call to discuss results. The practice gathers detailed information from parents through questionnaires as part of the assessment process. Communication is collaborative, with the therapeutic approach focused on understanding the family context and developing a personalised treatment plan that addresses each child's specific needs and family circumstances.

She is registered by the Psychology Board of Australia and Medicare, and has extensive experience assessing and treating children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, emotion regulation concerns, learning difficulties, and relationship issues. She brings a heartfelt, supportive approach with creative and artistic elements to sessions.

  • Your first visit

The first consultation is designed to create a comfortable and reassuring environment, recognising that discussing challenges with a new person can feel anxiety-provoking. The session lasts approximately 50 minutes and involves a thorough understanding of your child's current life situation, its broader context, and a discussion about treatment goals. This collaborative dialogue helps develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to address your child's specific concerns and aspirations. The psychologist will gather background information about your child and work with you to establish clear objectives for the therapeutic journey ahead.
