Privacy policy

How we handle your data.

Last updated: October 2026

EarlyBloom is an information directory for Australian parents looking for child development support. We try to collect as little data as we can get away with, and we are transparent about what we do collect.

What we collect

  • Quiz sessions. When you use our quiz, your answers, including your postcode, are stored against an anonymous, cookie-scoped session identifier. We do not link these answers to a name or email unless you tap Get matched on your results. Then we save a copy of your answers with your enquiry.
  • Find support enquiries. When you ask us to match you with providers, from the Find support form, your quiz results or a suburb page, we collect your answers, your first name, your email and, if you give it, your phone number. On the Find support form, the answers are your child's age, when you need care, the type of service, how it's funded and your postcode. On your quiz results, they are all your quiz answers, including your main concern and any diagnosis you told us about, and the service we suggested first. On a suburb page, the answer is your postcode. See who sees your enquiry.
  • Provider enquiries. When you send an enquiry from a provider's page, we collect your name, email, phone (if you give it), your child's age band and postcode (if you give them), your message, and a scrambled form of your network address that we use only to limit spam.
  • Email correspondence. If you email us through our contact page, we receive whatever you send us (your email address and the message body).
  • Error logs. When something breaks, our error monitoring (Sentry) captures the technical details so we can fix it.
  • Server logs. Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamp) are kept by our host, Vercel, for up to 1 hour, for security and debugging. On Where to start, the page address holds your answers, so these logs can hold them for that hour.
  • Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits to our pages. It does not identify you. It records the page you visit, the site that sent you, your operating system, browser and device type, and where you are, such as your country, state and city.
  • Tool feedback. If you answer "Did this help?" on a tool page, we store your answer, anything you type in "What was missing?", the page, the time and a scrambled code made from your network address, so we can stop spam. Please don't include names or details about your child.
  • GP visit prep sheet. The GP visit prep sheet keeps your answers in your own browser so you can come back to them. They are not sent to us. You can delete them on the tool page.

What we do not collect

  • We do not offer personal user accounts at this stage.
  • We do not collect your email address unless you contact us, send a Find support enquiry or send an enquiry to a provider.
  • We do not sell data to third parties. Ever.

Who sees your enquiry

Your details are never sold. When you tap Get matched, we share your enquiry with the providers we match you with, so they can contact you and arrange care. The partners who run our platform, listed below, also store or deliver it as part of that work.

Tapping Get matched is your agreement to this. If you change your mind, email support@earlybloom.com.au and we will stop sharing your enquiry and delete it.

When you send an enquiry from a provider's page, we send your name, contact details and message to that provider so they can reply. If we do not have the provider's email, our team passes your enquiry on. We keep a copy of each enquiry to help if something goes wrong.

Third parties

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run EarlyBloom:

  • Sentry (sentry.io) — error monitoring.
  • Vercel (vercel.com) — hosting and edge delivery.
  • Supabase (supabase.com) — our database and authentication backend.
  • Resend (resend.com) — email delivery, including sending enquiry emails to our team and, where we have their address, to the provider you contacted.
  • OpenFreeMap (openfreemap.org) — the map on provider pages. When you scroll to a map, your browser loads the map images from OpenFreeMap, which sees your network address, as any website you visit does.
  • Google (google.com) — some provider photos and street images. Your browser loads them from Google, which sees your network address, as any website you visit does.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep your quiz answers together while you use the quiz. We use authentication cookies only for administrator sign-in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), you have the right to access personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to complain if you think we have mishandled it. Email support@earlybloom.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can raise the matter with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Children

EarlyBloom is written for parents and carers. It is not designed for use by under-18s, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will remove it.
