  • Our approach

The clinically trained psychologists at Psychology 806 take a positive and practical approach to therapy based on sound research, aiming to provide a warm and accepting environment to improve the quality of your child's life. Because every child is different, therapy is tailored to their individual needs and advances at their own pace. In the first appointment, the psychologist will understand what has been troubling your child and how they wish to move forward, while also assessing what has been creating and sustaining their difficulties and how life might look free of them. Your child will be offered practical, evidence-based strategies to begin making the changes needed to reach their goals.

  • Your first visit

At the first appointment, the psychologist aims to understand what has been troubling your child and how they wish to move forward. The psychologist will also assess what has been creating and sustaining the current difficulties, what your child has already tried to manage them, and how they see life free of these challenges. Your child will be offered practical, evidence-based strategies to begin making the changes needed to reach their goals. Please bring your Medicare card and the patient information and consent sheet if it has been sent to you beforehand, as well as any previous assessments or reports that may be helpful.
