Our approach
EMDR therapy uses the adaptive information processing model to help reorganise how the brain processes distressing memories. Sessions involve techniques such as rapid eye movements, tapping, or physical movements to create bilateral brain stimulation, which helps transform troubling memories into manageable ones. Rather than relying on talking alone, the therapist helps identify relevant past experiences that perpetuate unwanted emotional reactions like anger, depression, and anxiety, then works to reprocess and desensitise these memories so they no longer trigger intense physical or emotional responses. The goal is to help you develop a wiser perspective on your past and respond more effectively to life's challenges.
