Our approach
Therapists at Wellmind Psychology are compassionate and respectful professionals who provide counselling services across a variety of psychological conditions. Sessions are tailored to engage with clients on their own level, with tailored approaches for children including play therapy, art therapy, music and other methods that encourage self-expression. The practice aims to create a calm, inviting and supportive space for clients to explore their difficulties with guidance from experienced professionals. Sessions typically last between 50 and 60 minutes depending on the therapist.
Working with families
Parents are asked to attend the first appointment alone to provide background information about their child's history and challenges. After this initial session, children attend appointments individually to allow them to speak openly. The practice maintains confidentiality regarding session content and does not disclose details of the child's sessions. Parents are encouraged to contact the service directly if they have queries or wish to discuss their individual situation.
Meet the team
The team includes Eliza Hatton (Psychologist/Psychotherapist), Lauren Paganoni (Clinical Psychologist), Virginia Pulker (Therapist), Rebecca Glorie (Psychologist), Jessica Bouquet (Clinical Social Worker), Emily Parker (Registered Psychologist) and Imogen Morgan (Mental Health Occupational Therapist). All staff are highly qualified and experienced professionals. The team works collaboratively to provide psychological, psychotherapeutic and counselling services across a range of conditions and can conduct psychological assessments in areas including trauma, PTSD and ADHD.
Your first visit
In the first session with a child, parents are asked to attend alone so the therapist can gain a full picture of the child's history, behaviours and challenges from the parent's perspective. After this initial appointment, the child is encouraged to attend sessions alone so they can fully open up without distraction or influence. This structure allows therapists to understand the child's situation comprehensively before building a direct therapeutic relationship. The therapist will tailor their approach to match the child's developmental stage and preferences.
