  • Our approach

The Kidd Clinic works with understanding of emotional and behavioural difficulties using attachment theory, neuroscience, and a low arousal approach to build collaborative partnerships. Sessions are customised to fit each person's unique needs, with nothing ever forced. The team values building a genuine, trusting relationship where you feel heard, understood, and supported, as this foundation is key for meaningful progress. Communication is open and clear throughout therapy, with encouragement for questions, feedback, and shared decision-making at every step. The clinic honours all backgrounds, identities, bodies, and neurotypes, making inclusion central to how they work.

  • Working with families

The Kidd Clinic values openness and clarity in communication with families, encouraging questions, feedback, and shared decision-making throughout the therapeutic journey. Parents and carers are central to the clinic's approach—they're welcome to be involved in appointments, can bring relevant reports from other professionals to inform treatment, and can participate in one-off problem-solving sessions designed specifically for parents/carers. The clinic also offers training and learning opportunities for families and educators, providing strategies and guidance to support children at home and in educational settings. Clear communication ensures you always know what to expect from your care.

  • Meet the team

The team includes Dr Theresa Kidd, Clinical Director and Senior Clinical Psychologist, alongside multiple Clinical Team Leads and Senior Clinical Psychologists who are experienced in working with neurodivergent clients across the lifespan. The clinic employs Clinical Psychologists, Registered Psychologists, Provisional Psychologists, and an Occupational Therapist across its three locations. Many clinicians hold Board Approved Supervisor status and have experience with autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental presentations. The team also includes a Client Care Team and Assessment Team who support the clinical operations and help with appointments, administration, and assessment coordination.

  • Your first visit

For your first appointment, you may bring a referral if you have one (though it's not necessary), your NDIS plan if applicable, and relevant reports from other professionals. You're welcome to bring items that make the appointment more comfortable or accessible, such as a mobility aid or sensory comfort item, and some clients like to bring a support person along, such as a parent or partner. At the time of booking, the clinic will discuss your needs and match you with an appropriate clinician based on the services they provide, their location and availability, and any specific clinical requirements. The clinic operates from three physical locations in North Perth, Fremantle, and Melbourne, and also provides online telehealth services, though some assessments require in-person appointments.
