  • Our approach

Sigma Therapies integrates psychology, positive behaviour support, and occupational therapy to support the whole person—addressing mental health, daily living skills, behaviour support, and emotional wellbeing together. The approach is strength-based and person-centred, focusing on what's possible rather than just barriers, with therapists collaborating closely with clients to guide them on their wellness journey. Sessions are tailored to each individual's goals, strengths, and preferences, with a commitment to creating real, measurable impact in daily life and independence. The team uses evidence-based modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, schema therapy, and solution-focused approaches, adapted to each client's unique needs. Therapists create safe, compassionate, and supportive environments where clients feel understood, valued, and genuinely heard throughout their recovery journey.

  • Working with families

Sigma Therapies is committed to collaboration that creates real change, working closely with families, carers, support coordinators, and teachers to ensure therapy is well-integrated and progress is maximised. The team believes support works best when everyone is on the same page, fostering seamless teamwork and ongoing communication. Families are treated as active partners in their child's recovery journey rather than passive observers, with the therapists providing practical strategies and tools that carers and families can use every day. Regular updates and team coordination ensure sustained progress and adaptability, and the approach is grounded in transparency—what you see is what you get, with clear communication and no hidden surprises about fees or service plans.

  • Meet the team

The team at Sigma Therapies includes psychologists, occupational therapists, and positive behaviour support practitioners who are highly trained, experienced, and NDIS-registered professionals. Key clinicians include director Nicholas Fares (BPsych, GradDip) with extensive experience across NDIS, schools, and private practice; Amit Londhe (BPsych Hons), a renowned psychologist with expertise in evidence-based care and NDIS service delivery; and Vedant Malik (BOccThy Hons), the lead occupational therapist and paediatric specialist with a strong foundation in client-centred, developmental therapy. The team also includes Dinithi Hettiarachi, a lead PBS practitioner with a Masters in Inclusive and Special Needs Education and over 2.5 years of experience, plus additional occupational therapists and PBS practitioners. The clinicians bring diverse backgrounds in clinical leadership, paediatric therapy, and complex case management, and remain at the forefront of best practices and evidence-based approaches.

  • Your first visit

An initial appointment involves a comprehensive assessment to understand your child's unique needs, strengths, and goals. The team takes time to listen to you and your family, gathering detailed information to develop a personalised intervention plan. The process is designed to be thorough yet accessible, ensuring you have a clear understanding of your child's condition and the tailored strategies moving forward. For ADHD assessments specifically, the process is structured across two appointments—an intake and assessment session followed by a feedback and report session—providing detailed diagnostic clarity and guidance. The team is committed to transparency throughout, with no hidden costs and clear communication about next steps so families feel confident moving forward.
