Our approach
As Child Psychologists, the team works collaboratively with young people and their families to assist with a range of issues through Individual Therapy, Parenting Strategies, and Family Therapy. The first session involves gathering information to understand what is happening and to establish appropriate therapy goals, with the information collected focusing on the problems the child wants to work on. Therapy generally begins in the second session, where the team starts targeting the agreed goals and develops coping strategies to help the child with the challenges they are facing. As further information is gathered over time, the understanding of contributing factors may change and can be incorporated into the therapy goals. As therapy comes to an end, a closure session is held to help develop a plan to minimise relapse.
