  • Our approach

The Body Life Skills Program forms the foundation of this approach, which brings simplicity and usability to evidence-based functional behaviour assessment practices. Sessions focus on understanding the reason behind non-preferred behaviours rather than judging behaviour as right or wrong. The philosophy separates the person from their behaviour, recognising that every behaviour happens for a reason and that identifying the function of behaviour is key to lasting change. Practitioners work with clients to bring understanding to unwanted behaviours, supporting them to develop lasting behaviour change in their natural environments where it actually occurs. This methodology is described as simple, practical, and significantly effective.

  • Meet the team

The multi-disciplinary team includes Behaviour Support Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Counsellors, Behaviour Specialists, Social Workers, Support Workers and Therapy Assistants, all working together to support participants to live their full potential. The clinical team is led by Tanya Curtis, Head of Clinical Team and Senior Behaviour Specialist. Practitioners hold various qualifications and many combine multiple roles; for example, several practitioners are trained as both Behaviour Support Practitioners and Counsellors. The team operates across multiple Australian locations and via telehealth, with over 20 years of experience supporting lasting behaviour change.
