About Priority Paediatrics
Priority Paediatrics is a group of private Paediatric Emergency Specialists and General Paediatricians working together to deliver the highest level of care, rapidly, to the children of Adelaide and South Australia. They understand that there are occasions when an urgent appointment with a paediatric doctor is required, but it may not be necessary to attend the Emergency Department.

Meet the team
The team includes Dr Tharangi Ranasinghe (Paediatrician), Dr Lalith Gamage (Paediatric Emergency Physician and General Paediatrician), and Vishwas Sundaram (Neurodevelopmental Therapist). The doctors are specialists who also work at the Women's and Children's Hospital in Adelaide, bringing emergency medicine and general paediatric expertise. This combination of paediatric emergency specialists and general paediatricians allows the clinic to manage urgent presentations and developmental concerns across a wide range of paediatric issues.
Your first visit
At a first appointment, Priority Paediatrics conducts assessments tailored to your child's needs, which may include behavioural assessments or autism spectrum disorder evaluations depending on the referral. The clinic has several appointment options available: urgent in-clinic appointments within 7 days, telehealth consultations within 1-2 days, or general paediatric appointments at their North Adelaide location or other metropolitan sites. Rapid Access appointments are available to patients referred by a GP, local Emergency Department, or through self-referral (though Medicare rebates only apply to GP-referred patients). For urgent same-day needs, the clinic keeps slots available to accommodate referrals from GPs.
