• Our approach

  Therapy is grounded in client-centred and strengths-based approaches, where each child's unique interests, skills, and abilities are encouraged and incorporated into therapy plans. Occupational Therapists support children to engage in meaningful activities, working with areas like sensory processing, fine and gross motor skills, social and emotional wellbeing, play, and self-care skills. Sessions are 45 minutes long and can include 1:1 sessions and parent or family coaching, with opportunities for visits to schools or childcare settings. The therapists strongly believe therapy should be fun and engaging, with an inclusive and welcoming philosophy that celebrates each child's strengths.

• Working with families

  Sessions can include parent and family coaching alongside individual work with your child, allowing carers to be actively involved in supporting progress. The therapists discuss session times and goals collaboratively with families, and a review of goals and progress is completed at the end of each block of sessions. Contact is made directly with your chosen therapist to discuss your child's needs and plan appropriate support, ensuring open communication throughout therapy.

• Meet the team

  The clinic has two Occupational Therapists, both holding Master's degrees in Occupational Therapy and relevant bachelor's degrees. Tia Stephenson graduated from Swinburne University with a Master of Occupational Therapy and from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Psychology and Health Promotion, and has experience working with ADHDers, PDAers, and Autistic children and adolescents. Sarah Aburrow also holds a Master of Occupational Therapy from Swinburne University and a Bachelor of Psychological Science from La Trobe University, with experience supporting Autistic children, ADHDers, and children with developmental delay, and a passion for therapy that embraces each child's strengths and interests.

• Your first visit

  Getting started is straightforward—simply call or email the therapist you'd like to book with and outline the areas you need support for. The initial assessment process includes an initial phone consultation, an assessment conducted either in the clinic or via telehealth, and an optional initial report. Your therapist will discuss session times appropriate for your family, and sessions are generally 45 minutes with additional time for note-taking and equipment sanitising. No referral from a medical professional is needed to begin, though any previous reports from other allied health practitioners are helpful to share.
