  • Our approach

Mispace uses a warm, empathetic, and person-centred approach tailored to each child's individual needs. Sessions draw on evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness. Clinicians work collaboratively with children to develop self-awareness, explore emotions safely, and build meaningful change toward their therapy goals. The practice emphasises creating a safe and comfortable environment where children can identify their strengths and achieve positive outcomes at a pace that suits them.

  • Working with families

Family involvement is central to the practice's approach, with child, adolescent, and family therapy offered as a core service. Parent Therapy is available to support parents navigating parenting challenges and stress. The practice explicitly offers parenting-focused therapy including connection-based parenting and the Circle of Security approach. Clinicians develop collaborative treatment plans with families and individual clients to address goals and needs, ensuring parents are involved in supporting their child's progress and change.

  • Your first visit

An initial assessment session begins the process, during which your clinician will gather information about your child's needs and goals. Following this, the clinician will collaboratively develop an individualised and tailored treatment plan with you and your child to address their specific concerns. Sessions create a safe space where your child can explore emotions and develop insight, working toward meaningful change and skill development. The focus is on helping your child build self-awareness so they can develop a more fulfilling life.
