  • Our approach

Sessions at Mindworx Psychology use a range of evidence-based treatments tailored to each person's needs, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), schema therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, attachment therapy, play therapy, eye movement therapy (EMDR), compassion-focused therapy, and mindfulness. The team takes a collaborative, holistic approach to mental health that considers the whole person—diet, exercise, relationships and the environment all factor into treatment. Sessions are confidential, respectful and outcome-focused, with a warm and approachable team that works to create a genuine connection so clients feel comfortable and welcome.

  • Working with families

The practice takes a collaborative approach and maintains effective communication with referrers and care teams including GPs, psychiatrists, paediatricians, schools, dieticians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, workplaces and third parties. Parents and carers are involved in the process—the team works with families and offers parenting skills groups, workshops and online courses such as "Help Your Anxious Child" and "Strategies for Working with ADHD" to support parents in understanding and helping their children. The intake process includes matching families with the right psychologist and discussing available options, ensuring parents are engaged from the start.

  • Meet the team

The team consists of employed and contracted Clinical Psychologists, Registered Psychologists and Clinical Psychology Registrars, all trained in a range of cutting-edge and gold-standard therapies and modern diagnostic tools. The founder and director, Dr. Amanda Mullin, is a Doctor of Clinical Psychology with background in business and holistic therapy, and remains hands-on working closely with the team. Team members have special interest areas including neurodiversity, ADHD, trauma, anxiety and grief, with some also trained as Schema Therapists, EMDR therapists, or in ACT, DBT, CBT or Clinical Hypnosis. The team is trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, culturally sensitive and many are multilingual.

  • Your first visit

At the first appointment, you'll complete a New Client Intake Form which our intake manager uses to match you with the right psychologist on the team, who then contacts you to discuss the options available. For assessments, the team conducts gold-standard psychological testing to help you or your child understand specific concerns like focus, learning, emotions, or daily functioning. Rather than just providing a diagnostic label, the psychologists offer insight, clarity, and practical next steps to help you move forward with confidence and achieve your goals. Medicare rebates are available if you have a valid referral from a GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician, and you do not need a GP referral to book an appointment.
