Our approach
Our psychologists use a wide range of evidence-based therapies individually tailored to your child's needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and other APS-endorsed approaches. Individual therapy is a collaborative process where you and your psychologist work together to identify goals and explore your child's thoughts, feelings and behaviours in a safe, caring and confidential environment. Each 50-minute session gives time to discuss your child's needs and develop a flexible plan to support their progress. Sessions are directed by you and your child, meaning you determine the most effective means of facilitating change. If your family is experiencing relationship difficulties, family therapy helps members express and explore difficult feelings while building understanding of each other's views and needs. The approach focuses on developing new family dynamics and finding solutions moving forward.
