  • Our approach

Assessments are delivered entirely via secure telehealth, allowing you to access care from home. Sessions involve a detailed clinical interview, questionnaires, review of background information, and thorough discussion of medical and mental health history. The psychiatrist takes time to understand your history, current challenges, and recovery goals, with a structured approach that explores how symptoms affect daily life. Treatment planning is guided by the assessment findings, and where relevant, a neuro-affirming perspective is applied. Your psychiatrist prepares a detailed clinical report afterwards, which is shared with your GP to guide your ongoing care.

  • Meet the team

The team comprises six RANZCP-registered psychiatrists, each bringing specialist expertise. Dr Joe Chen, Dr Mohammad Faizal, and Dr Rasha Rahman specialise in Adult ADHD Psychiatry, while Dr Essam Sarhan offers Adult ADHD and General Psychiatry. Dr Shehara Gunasekara provides Old Age and General Psychiatry, and Dr Lucy Hand specialises in IVF Psychiatry and Medico-Legal services. The team is supported by an experienced administrative team and Practice Manager, creating a collaborative, supportive environment focused on personalised, compassionate care.

  • Your first visit

Your GP will refer you to Mind at Peace, and the team will contact you to confirm your appointment once the referral is received. Some admin paperwork is required ahead of time, and the team will work to minimise the burden of this; just let them know if paperwork feels hard and they'll make it as easy as possible. Your appointment is conducted securely online via video and is structured to thoroughly explore the symptoms you're seeking assessment for. The psychiatrist is personable and takes time with you, ensuring you feel listened to and understood throughout. After your consultation, a thorough clinical report is prepared and shared with your referring GP to guide your ongoing care.
