About Little Stars Foundation
Change for Youth Foundation is a Queensland-based charity standing beside children and young people in out-of-home care who have experienced abuse, domestic violence, neglect, and disrupted schooling. Through early intervention, the foundation provides practical support and tailored programs that help young people rebuild confidence, strengthen skills, and shape futures on their own terms.

- Learning and Wellbeing Support
- One-on-one trauma-informed learning support provided by trained mentors to help children remain engaged at school and rebuild confidence despite complex challenges.
- Empower Youth Program
- Individualised wellbeing care supporting emotional regulation, coping strategies, and healing for children with complex trauma histories, delivered through mentorship and collaborative goal-setting.
- Scholarship Support
- Learning and wellbeing support scholarships provided to young people in out-of-home care, including welcome packs and ongoing mentoring.

Our approach
The foundation uses trauma-informed learning support tailored to each child's needs, recognising that children in out-of-home care often carry invisible wounds from past abuse and neglect. Sessions focus on relationship-based learning in safe spaces, sometimes away from the classroom, where young people can rebuild confidence and discover that learning can be safe and enjoyable. The approach also includes individualised wellbeing care to support emotional regulation and coping strategies for children with complex trauma histories. Staff work alongside carers, schools and professionals to build stable, supportive environments, and provide culturally responsive care for First Nations children. The foundation believes that confidence and self-esteem are protective factors that open the door to better learning, stronger relationships, and healthier futures.
