Our approach
At Flourish Child Psychology, therapy sessions focus on addressing the child's specific needs through a collaborative approach. An initial appointment involves obtaining the child's clinical history and creating a tailored plan together with the family. This plan may include psychological interventions, psychometric assessments, observations, or collaboration with other professionals. Sessions are tailored to each client and their goals, with regular review of progress throughout the treatment process. The practice specialises in psychological, developmental and educational difficulties, offering services for presentations including anxiety, mood difficulties, ASD, and ADHD.
Working with families
Collaboration with parents and carers is central to the work at Flourish Child Psychology. Throughout treatment or assessment, the practice may engage with parents, treating health professionals and school supports as appropriate. These collaborative arrangements are discussed with clients and their families as needed, ensuring that your involvement is planned with your input. Families are kept informed throughout the process, with regular review discussions and progress updates conducted during treatment or at the end of an assessment. For clients referred under Medicare, reports are provided to the referring health professional at specific intervals, keeping all parties informed.
Your first visit
Your child's first appointment involves meeting with a clinician who will gather a detailed clinical history and work collaboratively with you to create a treatment or assessment plan. This plan may include psychometric assessments, psychological interventions, observations, or collaboration with other services, depending on your child's needs and your family's goals. The clinician will tailor the approach specifically for your child. After the initial appointment, further sessions or assessments are scheduled according to the plan that has been agreed upon. Regular reviews of progress and discussions take place during the treatment process or at the end of an assessment.
