Our approach
Family in Mind takes a developmentally-informed approach that recognises how children, adolescents and adults navigate different life stages. The practice views early intervention as key to overcoming developmental challenges and building positive self-concept in children. Central to their philosophy is the importance of family—parents are recognised as instrumental in modelling approaches to life and remain central to therapy where beneficial. Rather than focusing solely on problems, clinicians play to each person's strengths, whether helping a child build confidence, supporting adolescents through life challenges, or assisting adults. Parents are also supported to adopt a united front and use effective parenting strategies, recognising that a child's most valued teacher is their parent.
