• Our approach

Each student receives an assessment of their current ability, knowledge gaps and school's lesson sequence, which then guides the pace, strategy and focus of their program. Tutors use YK-teaching materials and work through what is expected in different topics and modules, helping students prepare for assessments early on. The teaching style emphasises being understanding and patient, with students encouraged to ask questions about homework and receive help preparing for school assessment tasks. Lessons combine the benefits of both private and group tuition, providing personalised attention alongside the social aspects of working alongside peers.

• Working with families

  Parents receive follow-up telephone calls on their child's progress, and open communication with families is central to how the service functions. The team's commitment to open communication ensures that the needs of students are prioritised when planning lessons and creating resources. Parents are involved in the development of customised lesson plans, and the tutors work to build close relationships with both students and their parents. Yuna and the tutors are described as friendly and approachable, with a genuine focus on ensuring families feel supported throughout their child's learning journey.

• Meet the team

  The team is led by Yuna, a NSW qualified high school teacher who oversees all lesson planning and assists tutors and students behind the scenes. All maths, English and Japanese tutors have achieved top bands in HSC Extension 1 in their teaching subject and have completed a training program run by Yuna to learn evidence-based teaching methods backed by research. The team includes maths tutors such as Jackie Gao and Tiffany Cheung, and English tutor Jocelin Chan, all of whom emphasise their commitment to building positive relationships with students and their parents. Tutors receive ongoing mentoring from Yuna to support their professional and personal growth, and collaboration between tutors and Yuna ensures each student's customised lesson plan is effective and well-designed.

• Your first visit

  At the initial stage, an assessment is conducted of the student's current ability, knowledge gaps and their school's lesson sequence. This assessment then dictates the pace, strategy and focus of the customised program that will be created for them. Based on this assessment, a personalised lesson plan is developed in consultation with Yuna, the NSW qualified high school teacher who leads the team. Students can book a free consultation to begin the process. The structured program combines one-on-one tutoring lessons with sessions to practice exam-style questions, tailored to address each student's unique educational needs and struggles.
