About Yarran Early Intervention Services
Yarran Early Intervention Services is a trusted, community-based not-for-profit organisation supporting young children with developmental delays or disabilities and their families across the Central Coast of NSW. For over 40 years, Yarran has been proudly run by Central Coast locals, for Central Coast families. Their family-centred approach partners with parents and caregivers to build knowledge, skills, and confidence so they can support their child's growth in everyday life.

- Occupational Therapy
- Occupational Therapists help children build independence and confidence in everyday lives through play-based and routine-focused strategies, supporting self-care skills, fine and gross motor development, sensory processing, and participation in home and community routines.
- Speech Pathology
- Speech Pathologists work with children to develop communication, language, and feeding skills, including speech clarity, language understanding, social communication, fluency, and mealtime management.
- Early Childhood Intervention Educators (ECIE)
- Early Childhood Intervention Educators specialise in holistic development of children in the early years, working closely with families to increase development, identify goals and strategies, and support learning through everyday routines and environments.
- Therapy Assistants
- Trained Therapy Assistants work closely with qualified therapists to support children's progress towards goals through play-based sessions and skill building across various settings including childcare, home, and education.
- First Steps Forward Program
- A free program supporting children aged 0-3 years and families to transition into early education settings, including group sessions held at various Central Coast locations during school terms.
- Fee for Service
- Assessments, therapy, and other supports available privately for families without NDIS funding, with personalised quotes provided.

Our approach
Sessions combine play-based and routine-focused strategies delivered in a hybrid model that suits your family. Your child may be seen one-on-one at home, in spacious playrooms at the East Gosford or Bateau Bay locations, within community settings, or in their early education environment. The approach is family-centred, recognising that families are children's first and most important teachers. Therapists work with parents and caregivers to build knowledge, skills, and confidence so you can support your child's growth in everyday life. The focus is on fostering your child's engagement, independence, and social participation in meaningful ways.
Working with families
Families are viewed as partners in the process. The team works in ways that acknowledge your capability and competence, utilise and extend your family's strengths and resources, strengthen links to supportive networks, and respect your rights to make decisions for your family. Regular communication and feedback keep you informed of your child's progress. The approach includes collaborative consultation, joint sessions where helpful, and information-sharing so that you can continue supporting your child's development at home and in everyday routines. Your knowledge of your child and family context is valued and integrated into all planning.
