  • Our approach

At Vida Psychology, our psychologists work with evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to what's been proven effective and what makes sense for you. We offer therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Exposure & Response Prevention, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Therapy, among others. The way we work depends on what you're dealing with and your individual needs, with a focus on understanding your history, patterns, and what's been getting in the way so support actually fits your life. Sessions are delivered at your own pace in a safe, collaborative environment where you feel valued and understood.

  • Working with families

Vida Psychology works with a connected, collaborative approach alongside GPs, paediatricians, schools, and other professionals to keep support consistent and aligned. The practice is committed to understanding each child's full picture and working with families to ensure recommendations are practical and meaningful, with reports designed to support school adjustments, workplace accommodations, and NDIS applications.

  • Meet the team

Vida Psychology's team includes Carmen Beaumont (Practice Director and Principal Psychologist), Susan Withers, Jane Passlow, Rujvi Patel, Dr Fariha Farooqui, and Theano-Christina Salta—all registered or provisional psychologists with training in evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Jodie P is an Art Therapist who consults with the practice. Each team member works with different age groups across child, adolescent, and adult therapy, assessments, and group programs, and the practice is committed to matching each person with the right psychologist for their needs.

  • Your first visit

Your first appointment allows us to understand your individual experience and what brings you in. We take time to listen to your history, patterns, and what's been getting in the way, rather than rushing to fit you into a category. From there, we work with you to figure out the best approach and how often sessions should be scheduled—usually weekly or fortnightly to start with. You and your psychologist will then adjust the frequency as you progress and based on what works best for your situation.
