• Our approach

  Upside Kids uses a relaxed and friendly environment where children feel comfortable in a home-like clinic space decorated with a jungle theme and playground setup to get the most out of sessions while having fun. The practice takes a multidisciplinary approach, working closely with other therapists and professional teams—including paediatricians, specialist doctors, and hospital-based teams—to ensure continuity of care for the whole family. The clinic maintains open communication with local allied health providers such as occupational therapy, speech pathology, psychology and behaviour therapy teams. All therapy is delivered by therapists with extensive experience and knowledge specific to children, understanding that helping kids looks different from helping adults. The practice is exclusively "kids only," serving children from birth to 18 years old with evidence-based physiotherapy and occupational therapy delivered in clinic, at home, daycare, school, or in the pool.

• Working with families

  The practice is built on a family-centred philosophy, believing that family involvement is essential to a child's success. Open communication is maintained between the clinic therapists, parents, and all members of the child's support team—including other allied health professionals and medical specialists—to ensure everyone is working towards the same goals. The multidisciplinary approach allows the whole family to receive coordinated support and continuity of care. Parents and carers are considered part of the therapy team, with the clinic available for appointments and consultations at times and locations that work for families—clinic, home, daycare or school visits.

• Meet the team

  The team consists of paediatric physiotherapists and paediatric occupational therapists with extensive experience managing children's ongoing development and gross motor milestones from birth to 18 years old. All therapists have specialist knowledge and understanding specific to paediatric therapy, recognising that treating children requires a different approach than treating adults. The practice has built strong relationships with local allied health providers including speech pathology, psychology and behaviour therapy professionals. The team works collaboratively with paediatricians, specialist doctors, and hospital-based teams to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care for each child and family.
