Our approach
Autism Queensland's approach centres on evidence-informed practice that brings together current research, professional reasoning, and the values, strengths and preferences of individuals and families. The organisation is guided by core values including integrity, diversity and inclusion, strengths focus, safety and wellbeing. Sessions are personalised and draw on the expertise of the team, which includes speech pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, educators and behaviour support practitioners. The organisation operates from a person-centred perspective, recognising that a strengths focus enables growth, empowers decision-making and supports self-advocacy for autistic children and their families.
