  • Our approach

Sessions follow a gentle, family-focused, evidence-based and responsive approach to feeding challenges. The philosophy centres on turning stress and battle-filled mealtimes into times of fun and connection for families. Whether supporting a parent with breastfeeding, helping anxious or problem eaters, or navigating other feeding concerns, the focus is on understanding each child's individual needs, family situation and values. Sessions can take place in the clinic, at your home, or at daycare or school, with flexibility built in to suit what works best for your family.

  • Working with families

Family involvement is central to the approach. Parents and carers are supported to take an active role in their child's feeding journey, whether learning to enjoy breastfeeding or helping turn mealtimes into positive experiences. The team works collaboratively with families to understand their individual situations and values, and offers flexibility in how services are delivered—in-clinic, at home, or at your child's daycare or school—to fit around family life.

  • Meet the team

Makaela Field leads the team as a speech pathologist, paediatric feeding therapist and lactation consultant with over 18 years of experience working with babies, children and families. She has expanded into private practice to pursue her passion for supporting families on their feeding journey, drawing on valuable insights from the families she has worked with and her own experience as a parent. In-clinic consultations are also available through a partnership with Leading Steps Paediatric Clinic in Benowa on Mondays.
