Our approach
At TherapySPOT, therapy is built on the 5 C's: ensuring children feel Comfortable, in Control, developing Competencies, growing Confidence, and learning to Communicate with others. Therapists use playful, creative approaches while also addressing difficult subjects in a normalising way, focusing not just on weaknesses but on each child's unique strengths and talents. Sessions are tailored to individual needs and follow best practice in accordance with top international standards. The goal is to build genuine confidence and competence across home, school and playground environments through tried-and-tested strategies in a safe, supportive setting. Therapy addresses a wide range of goals including motor skills, handwriting, sensory processing, attention, emotional regulation and behaviour management.
Working with families
Parents are encouraged to feel acceptance of their child's uniqueness and to develop confidence in their child's abilities. The therapy focuses on improving skills and competence that transfer to the home, school and playground environments, and the team values working together with families toward long-term goals of problem-solving, communication and emotional wellbeing.
