• Our approach

  A family-centred approach guides the therapy at the centre, with speech pathologists working closely with families to set personalised goals and develop strategies that foster and enrich each child's development. Sessions are tailored to each child's needs, with initial consultations lasting 60 or 90 minutes (or diagnostic therapy over 3-4 sessions where an informal assessment is conducted), followed by weekly therapy sessions of 45 or 60 minutes. Assessment is dynamic and varies for each child, and therapy aims to facilitate and support development while improving and positively contributing to the child's quality of life. The centre's therapists are trained in a range of evidence-based approaches including DIR Floortime, Hanen: It Takes Two to Talk, and specialised techniques for feeding and childhood apraxia of speech.

• Working with families

  The centre takes a family-centred approach and works closely with families to set personalised goals and develop strategies that enrich their child's development. After the initial consultation, the therapist has a discussion with the family to review findings, make clinical recommendations, and devise goals targeting the child's communication or feeding skills. Parents receive information and strategies to support their child's development at home, as reflected in client testimonials praising the therapist for providing helpful information for home practice. The speech pathologists value collaboration with families and are committed to supporting them through the therapeutic process.

• Meet the team

  The team consists of Natalie Trevisan (Speech Pathologist, BSpHSc, MSLP, CPSP) and Norris Hung (Speech Pathologist, BAppSc(SpPath)). Natalie is the director and has extensive experience with children across a wide range of clinical diagnoses including developmental language disorders, speech sound disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, social skill difficulties, voice disorders, feeding challenges, stuttering, autism spectrum disorder, and global developmental delay. She holds a Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Sciences and Master of Speech-Language Pathology from Macquarie University and is trained in multiple evidence-based approaches. Norris graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) and has experience working across hospitals, clinics, schools, and community settings with children presenting with autism spectrum disorder, global developmental delay, speech and language difficulties, and fluency concerns; he is committed to evidence-based, person-centred practice and values working with families from diverse cultural backgrounds.

• Your first visit

  The first appointment begins with the speech pathologist evaluating your child's communication or feeding skills through a dynamic assessment tailored to your child. Initial consultations are typically 60 or 90 minutes in length, though in some cases an informal assessment may be conducted through diagnostic therapy over 3-4 sessions to gather substantial information for a clinical diagnosis. After the initial consultation, the therapist discusses findings with the family and makes clinical recommendations. Goals are then developed to target your child's specific communication or feeding needs, setting the foundation for ongoing weekly therapy sessions.
