  • Our approach

My-Lien uses a warm, compassionate, and strength-based approach to therapy, working collaboratively with parents and children to strengthen family relationships, improve communication and routines, and address developmental delays and life transitions. Sessions draw on evidence-based psychological approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy. For families, therapy may involve parent and child working together in session to repair relationships, resolve conflicts, and create better-functioning home and family systems. My-Lien is also a certified Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator, offering a parenting program based on attachment research that helps parents understand and respond to their child's emotional needs.

  • Working with families

My-Lien works collaboratively with parents and carers from the outset, involving them directly in therapy to strengthen family relationships and improve communication. She supports families, foster carers, kinship carers, and other key adults in understanding and positively supporting the child's growth and development. The Circle of Security Parenting Program is specifically designed to help parents understand their child's emotional needs and develop a more secure relationship, with small group sizes creating a relaxed and interactive environment.
