  • Our approach

The clinic uses a specialist approach combining human psychology and canine expertise, with therapy dogs helping clients gradually work through their fears and build confidence. Sessions are tailored to each individual's specific phobia triggers, working with a variety of dogs to help develop real-world confidence in the presence of dogs. The therapeutic environment is designed to feel safe and empowering, with Anthony Berrick known for his gentle and patient approach to therapy. Sessions can be delivered in-person at the purpose-designed sanctuary in St Ives, which offers a tranquil setting nestled in bushland with an enclosed observation deck, or remotely wherever you live.

  • Meet the team

The team is led by Anthony Berrick, a consultant psychologist and certified dog trainer with over a decade of clinical experience in cynophobia and anxiety-related difficulties. The clinic partners with Tate Animals, a renowned team of dog and animal behaviour specialists including Ryan and Jen Tate, Stephen Dalleywater, and Claire Chiotti, who collectively bring decades of experience training a variety of animals. Amy Smith, a highly experienced dog trainer since 2024, also helps clients with a warm presence and deep understanding of dog behaviour. The therapy dogs themselves are integral team members, coming in various shapes, sizes and personalities to help clients learn to understand and feel safe around dogs.
