About The Centre for RODBT and DBT
The Centre for RO DBT and DBT is an inclusive trauma-informed psychology practice offering evidence-based treatment including Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Radically Open-Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (RO-DBT). Services are available for children, teens, adults, parents and carers. The practice is the first outpatient center in NSW to offer a full suite of specialized care, and the first in Australia to bring both RO DBT and DBT to adolescents, couples, and parents. Treatment addresses interpersonal and relationship issues, school and workplace issues, PTSD, trauma and grief, eating disorders, suicidal and self-harm behaviours, personality disorders, depression and mood disorders, and anxiety disorders. All clinicians are trained in a variety of trauma-informed and evidence-based treatments with a transdiagnostic approach to create personalized treatment plans.

Our approach
The Centre uses a transdiagnostic approach grounded in two main therapy models: Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Radically Open-Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (RO-DBT). DBT aims to help clients "build a life worth living," while RO-DBT focuses on "building a life worth sharing"—and the Centre values both goals equally. All clinicians are trained in trauma-informed and evidence-based treatments, and will work with you to create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your child's needs. The Centre emphasises connection and safety within the therapeutic relationship, operating from a philosophy that kindness and acceptance are central to healing. Sessions are structured within these evidence-based frameworks to help clients develop skills and move toward their valued goals.
