Our approach

Sydney Psychometrics takes a neurodiversity-affirming approach to psychometric assessment, aiming to make testing an enjoyable experience through warm and playful rapport. Assessments are individually tailored but typically include a detailed clinical interview with parents, validated questionnaire measures completed by teachers and family, child observations, standardised psychometric testing, and comprehensive feedback with recommendations. The clinician uses gold-standard assessment tools and has extensive experience identifying learning difficulties, giftedness, intellectual disability, ADHD, and autism across children and adolescents.

Working with families

Parents are actively involved from the start—you provide detailed information about your concerns during the initial contact and participate in a comprehensive clinical interview as part of the assessment. Validated questionnaire measures are completed by both family members and teachers to gather a full picture of your child's functioning. You receive detailed feedback and recommendations at the end of the assessment process.

Meet the team

Dr Imogene Munday is a Clinical Psychologist (BPsych Hons, MPsych Clinical, PhD Clinical Psychology) who is endorsed with AHPRA and leads the assessments. She has extensive experience working with individuals across the lifespan with particular interest in children and adolescents, and is trained in administering and interpreting a range of gold-standard psychometric assessments. She is passionate about neurodiversity-affirming practice and aims to create a warm, playful testing experience.

Your first visit

Your first step is to complete the contact form or email with information about your concerns. Someone will then be in touch to discuss which assessment types would be most suitable for your child. The assessment itself will include a detailed clinical interview with you as the parent, completion of validated questionnaire measures by teachers and family members, observations of your child, standardised psychometric testing, and a comprehensive feedback session with recommendations. The clinician will come to your home with all necessary equipment, or alternative arrangements can be made if you prefer a clinic setting.
