Our approach
The clinic uses evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to each client's needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, EMDR, Play Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapies. During a typical therapy session, you and your clinician meet for 50 minutes in a confidential space (face-to-face or via telehealth). In the first session, your clinician will review important paperwork and discuss your reasons for attending, asking questions about your background, family history, school or work experiences, and social life. Over the first one to three sessions, you'll discuss your main goals for therapy and develop a treatment plan. In following sessions, your clinician will use evidence-based therapies to address your main concerns and help you achieve your goals. Therapy is a collaborative space where strong emotions may arise as you process difficult experiences, but your clinician will work with you to regulate and understand these emotions over the course of treatment.
