- Psychological Counselling
- 50-minute counselling/therapy sessions for children and adolescents, which may include parents only, parent and child together, or the child only. Sessions focus on problem-solving and providing skills, strategies and resources to manage difficulties.
- Psychological Assessment
- Assessments that measure a child or adolescent's psychological functioning, which may be specific (e.g. anxiety disorder) or general assessment of overall psychological health.
- Cognitive Assessment
- Assessments that provide information about intellectual functioning, language processing, reasoning, attention, visual processing, planning, organisational ability, and verbal and non-verbal learning and memory. Assists in identifying learning difficulties and giftedness.
- Educational Assessment
- Assessments that measure academic achievement in literacy (reading, writing, spelling), numeracy and oral language, providing detailed information about strengths and weaknesses.
- Neurodevelopmental Assessment
- Neuro-affirming and strengths-based assessments for ADHD and/or autism that provide detailed understanding of a child's thinking, learning, and behaviour, with clear recommendations to support wellbeing and participation at home and school.

Our approach
Stephen Hayes practices from a neuro-affirming perspective, valuing neurodiversity and supporting children and families through strengths-based, respectful, and evidence-informed care. Counselling and therapy sessions are 50 minutes long and may include parents only, parent and child together, or the child alone, depending on the issues being addressed. Sessions often have a problem-solving focus and aim to provide children and adolescents with skills, strategies and resources to manage their difficulties. A range of psychological services is available, including counselling, psychological assessment, cognitive assessment, educational assessment, and neurodevelopmental assessment tailored to each child's needs. Telehealth services are also offered with existing Medicare, Private Health and NDIS rebates applying.

Stephen Hayes is a registered child and educational psychologist with over 20 years of experience working in various school settings. He holds a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Melbourne, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from Victoria University, and a Bachelor of Education (Psychology) from Deakin University. He is a registered psychologist with the Allied Health Practitioners Regulation Agency, a member of the Australian Psychological Society, a Fellow of the College of Educational & Developmental Psychologists, and an accredited psychologist supervisor. He also holds a Diploma of Clinical Hypnosis from the Australian Society of Hypnosis.
