  • Our approach

Therapy sessions are play-based, engaging, and tailored to each child's individual goals. Whether supporting speech clarity, language development, literacy, or social communication, the clinic makes learning fun, effective, and family-centred. The approach extends beyond just working on speech and language—it partners with families to nurture confidence, curiosity, and lifelong communication skills. The team is passionate advocates for early intervention, recognizing that the first five years of life offer a critical window for building strong communication foundations, though they emphasize it's never too late for meaningful progress at any age.

  • Working with families

The clinic takes a family-centred approach and partners with families throughout therapy. Parent coaching is offered to equip families with strategies to reinforce progress at home. For fluency groups using the Lidcombe Program, parents attend sessions alongside children for peer-supported learning and practice. Early intervention groups specifically include parent coaching to support learning at home. The clinic welcomes parent feedback and encourages families to share thoughts with their clinician or contact the clinic directly at any time.

  • Meet the team

The team consists of five Certified Practicing Speech Pathologists with Masters degrees in Speech Pathology and extensive paediatric experience: Cassandra El Akkari, Dana Kulezic, Paula Ghanem, Thea Azzi, and Elizabeth Lawlache. A graduate speech pathologist, Elizabeth, and an Allied Health Assistant, Monica, also support service delivery. Several team members hold specialised training in stuttering (Lidcombe Program), autism (SERVAM and Hanen), literacy (Sounds-Write phonics), augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and childhood apraxia of speech. Many are bilingual in English and Arabic. The clinic also partners with occupational therapists at Child Sense for joint therapy services.
