• Our approach

  Rise Up uses a holistic, client-centred approach that emphasises collaboration with individuals, families, carers, and other professionals involved in the client's life. Sessions are tailored to each person's strengths, goals and needs, with therapists focusing on making therapy engaging, fun and meaningful. The team provides interventions across a broad range of areas including fine and gross motor skill development, sensory processing, school readiness, emotional regulation, assistive technology, and home modifications. Therapists work in various settings including clinic, home, school and community environments, and are committed to empowering clients to achieve independence and meaningful participation in everyday activities.

• Working with families

  The service places strong emphasis on working collaboratively with families and carers as part of a holistic approach. The director and multiple team members are described as passionate about empowering families through practical strategies, education and ongoing support. Therapists share creative therapeutic activities with parents for use outside sessions, involve families in collaborative goal-setting, and work closely with carers to ensure consistency across home, school and community environments. Open communication channels are maintained throughout the duration of each intervention.

• Meet the team

  The team comprises a director and multiple senior occupational therapists with Bachelor degrees and some with postgraduate qualifications, several occupational therapy assistants currently studying Bachelor degrees, a behaviour therapist/provisional psychologist, and an administrative assistant. Team members have varied experience across paediatric early intervention, NDIS disability support, autism and ADHD, mental health, assistive technology, home modifications, and trauma-informed practice. The director brings 10 years of experience in the disability sector with expertise in behavioural therapy approaches including ABA and ESDM. All staff are described as collaborative professionals committed to empowering clients and building trusting therapeutic relationships.
