About POTS Newcastle
POTS provides mobile paediatric occupational therapy services throughout Newcastle. They engage participants in the occupation of play within their natural environments to support the development of foundational skills needed to function in everyday life. - Occupational Therapy Assessment
- Comprehensive functional capacity assessment highlighting occupational performance in fine and gross motor development, social emotional development, and emotional regulation skills. Includes one hour meeting with carer, one hour session with participant, comprehensive report, and one hour parent outcome meeting.
- Weekly Intervention
- Ongoing occupational therapy sessions scheduled based on therapy plans established during initial meeting. Therapists support development of emotional regulation, social skills, play skills, fine and gross motor skills, engagement, attention, and sensory processing skills.
- Occupational Therapy Progress Reports
- Progress reports supplied at the end of each NDIS funding period, written in relation to participant goals, discussing progress made and continued challenges.

Our approach
POTS takes a play-based approach to occupational therapy, engaging children in play within their natural home environments to support the development of foundational skills like emotional regulation, engagement and attention. These foundational skills then support the development of more complex abilities needed for everyday functioning. The service is guided by the understanding that every child's development is different, and therapy is tailored to support each participant along their own developmental pathway toward their goals. Sessions are held in the comfort of your home, making learning part of everyday life in your family's natural environment.
Your first visit
The first step is to express your interest through an intake form by clicking Enquire on the website. A member of the team will then contact you to arrange a meeting and discuss your child and the suitability of services for your family. This initial meeting allows the provider to understand your child's needs and goals before commencing weekly occupational therapy sessions in your home.
