About Playright Learnwrite
Playright Learnwrite is an occupational therapy service for children with a range of developmental difficulties. Occupational therapy aims to assist people to participate in everyday activities to the best of their ability. They provide Paediatric Occupational Therapy to children aged between 0 and 18 in Southern Metropolitan Melbourne, with goals often around participation at kinder or school, developing self-care skills and learning social skills.

- Individual therapy sessions
- 30, 45, or 60 minute sessions conducted in the clinic with parent or care-giver. Assessment and observation in initial sessions, followed by goal-setting and therapy to help children achieve their goals. May include visits to school or kinder.
- Assessments for school funding applications
- Occupational Therapy reports to support school funding applications for children in state, catholic, or independent school systems.
- School therapy service
- Occupational therapy support provided within schools, arranged with the Integration coordinator or Principal when multiple students require support.
- Group programs
- Children with similar goals come together in a supportive environment. Groups may focus on social skills (turn-taking, sharing, joining in play), school readiness, or fine motor skills.

Our approach
Occupational therapy at Playright Learnwrite focuses on helping children participate in everyday activities like school, kinder, self-care and social interaction. Individual therapy sessions last 30, 45 or 60 minutes and are held in the clinic with the parent or care-giver present. In the first one or two sessions, information is gathered through assessment and observation, then goals are established that reflect your family's priorities. Therapy is tailored to help your child achieve these goals and may sometimes include visits to school or kinder. Group programs are also available for children working toward similar goals such as social skills, school readiness or fine motor development.
Working with families
Your involvement is central to therapy at Playright Learnwrite—you attend sessions as part of the clinic-based care with your child. The therapist works with you to understand your family's goals and priorities, which directly shape the therapy provided. Your first visit
At the first one or two sessions, the occupational therapist gathers information through assessment and observation. The therapist works with you to understand what matters most for your family and uses this to guide the therapy that follows. Sometimes a visit to school or kinder may be arranged as part of the assessment process.
