Our approach
Planted Parenting is a neuroaffirming occupational therapy service that meets families where they are, with flexibility built into every session. The practice believes all brains are welcome exactly as they are—whether neurotypical or neurodivergent—and sessions adapt in the moment to individual needs, whether that means dimming lights, adjusting the room, or shifting the intensity of work. The approach is grounded in understanding the 'why' behind challenging behaviours, informed by FASD principles, and focused on building healthy family attachment so everyone can feel rooted in themselves and connected to those around them. Rather than fixing or medicating, the philosophy celebrates neurodiversity and helps children and families thrive by building self-advocacy skills and learning to love their unique neurotype. Sessions combine practical occupational therapy strategies with curiosity, compassion and clinical expertise, tailored continuously to what each person needs in that moment.
