Our approach
Through play, pictures and games, children experience therapy that feels enjoyable and engaging. Meet the team
The speech pathology service is led by Penelope Cromack, who holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Speech and Hearing. She graduated from Curtin University in 1979 and has over 30 years of clinical experience working with children's speech and language disorders. Her background includes work at major paediatric facilities (Princess Margaret Hospital and Pinjarra Hospital), schools consulting for teachers, and specialist experience with severely physically and intellectually disabled children. She is a member of Speech Pathology Australia and the Private Speech Pathologists Association of Western Australia, serving as its president.
Your first visit
Your child will be assessed while you have the opportunity to observe, and a diagnosis will be made. Please bring any reports or testing results from other professionals. The therapist is experienced in working with children who may be shy with strangers, using gentle encouragement to help them gain confidence from the first session onward. You as the parent feeling confident about the visit yourself helps this process. At the end of the assessment, home practice will be explained to support your child's progress.
