  • Our approach

Pam Brady uses a Schema Therapy approach, which helps clients understand why their difficulties have developed before learning skills and strategies to address thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are negatively impacting their life. She integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with Schema Therapy, and also incorporates elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) when working with emotional regulation and trauma. Sessions focus on developing insight into the emotional and psychological patterns underlying presenting concerns. For parents specifically, she takes an 'emotion coaching' approach to help them understand the needs behind their child's emotions and behaviour, supporting them to guide their child through difficulties.

  • Working with families

Pam takes an 'emotion coaching' approach with parents, helping them understand the needs behind their child's problematic emotions and behaviour. She supports parents in coaching their child through difficulties and has specialist expertise in working with parents of children struggling with anxiety, emotional regulation and behavioural difficulties. She has run parenting programs for Relationships Australia including Circle of Security and Parenting after Separation. Her work with parents draws on an in-depth understanding of children's core emotional needs developed through her Schema Therapy training and early childhood psychology background.
