Our approach
Oshia takes a holistic, personalised approach to mental health support through individual therapy, neuropsychological assessments, and group programs. Sessions draw on evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques. Therapists work collaboratively, using a strength-based approach tailored to each person's needs. The philosophy emphasises the therapeutic process as an ongoing direction of growth rather than a fixed destination, fostering self-compassion and personal development in a safe and supportive environment.
Meet the team
Oshia's clinical team comprises experienced clinical psychologists, all qualified and registered with AHPRA and the Australian Psychological Society. Dr. Kanny Hannah is the Director of Clinical Services and founder, a Chartered Consultant Clinical Psychologist with expertise spanning child and adolescent mental health, neuropsychological assessment, ADHD, autism, and trauma. Dr. Kirby Sainsbury holds a PhD in Health Psychology and specialises in eating disorders and mental health across the lifespan. Marina Zochil is a Registered Psychologist with 19 years' experience and a passion for tailored, strength-based care across child, adolescent, and family settings. The team provides multidisciplinary support coordinated by Operations Officer Omar Afiouni.
Your first visit
At an initial appointment or assessment, a clinical psychologist will conduct a comprehensive cognitive and diagnostic assessment to identify your strengths and challenges. This assessment helps create an individualised support plan tailored to your specific needs. You can choose to meet face-to-face at one of several Sydney locations (Angel Place, St Ives, Meadowbank, or Leichhardt) or via telehealth. The initial consultation is designed to develop a deeper understanding of who you are in order to foster self-compassion and guide your ongoing care.
