  • Our approach

Play therapy is based on the understanding that play is children's natural way of expressing themselves and working through feelings. Orchid Child Play Therapy uses Child-Centred and Synergetic Play Therapy approaches to help children develop communication and emotional regulation skills while celebrating who they are. Sessions are tailored to support each child's unique needs and strengths, with a particular focus on helping highly sensitive children harness their emotions as a source of strength. The practice is passionate about neurodiversity and recognises that every child presents differently, so treatment is individualised rather than one-size-fits-all.

  • Working with families

Parent support is central to the treatment approach at Orchid Child Play Therapy. The practice recognises how important it is that parents feel supported throughout the therapeutic journey and builds this into the treatment plan. Communication with families is prioritised, and the practice is happy to facilitate contact with third parties such as schools or other specialists involved in your child's care. This collaborative approach ensures you and your child receive rounded, inclusive support throughout your therapeutic journey.
