  • Our approach

The therapy approach at Nexus CAP is grounded in compassion, holistic care, and a patient-centred philosophy. Psychologists work to establish a safe, nurturing and inclusive space where clients feel heard and valued, taking time to listen to each person's journey before identifying strengths and creating meaningful change. Across all services including occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech pathology, clinicians take a gentle, individualised approach tailored to each person's specific needs, goals and circumstances. Sessions are designed to empower independence and participation, whether addressing physical, cognitive, communication or sensory challenges, with a focus on quality outcomes and meaningful relationships.

  • Working with families

Family involvement is central to the service approach. The team works closely with parents, carers, support coordinators and family members to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach to care. Communication is a priority, with the clinic replying to enquiries within 2 business days, and the team values collaboration to understand what families want to achieve and to link them into appropriate support networks. For NDIS participants and others, families are treated as valued members of the service community, and the multi-disciplinary ecosystem is designed so families don't have to repeat their story multiple times while accessing consistent, high-quality care.

  • Meet the team

The team at Nexus CAP includes experienced professionals across multiple disciplines. Occupational therapists such as Pauline and Cindy (a paediatric occupational therapist) support daily independence and goal achievement. Emma and Zarina are psychologists who work compassionately with clients to create meaningful change. Nicole is a speech pathologist offering personalised communication support. Mitchell is a physiotherapist with a Bachelor in Physiotherapy from Griffith University who takes a collaborative, client-first approach. Merita is a dietitian. The team is led by Thomas, the Managing Director and Clinical Manager, supported by over 50 years of combined post-university experience and high clinical standards.

  • Your first visit

At a first appointment, you can expect a personalised assessment where the team takes time to understand your or your child's unique situation, strengths, challenges and aspirations. The clinician will listen to your journey and work collaboratively with you to develop a customised plan of care aligned with your goals. In-home assessments are available for occupational therapy and physiotherapy services, making the initial appointment convenient and tailored to your environment. This foundational visit establishes a trusting relationship and sets the direction for your ongoing support and treatment plan.
