  • Our approach

The practice uses an integrative and evidence-based approach tailored to each individual's needs and preferences, incorporating Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance-Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and client-centered therapy. All services are delivered with a neuro-affirming and trauma-informed lens, prioritising sensitivity to individual experiences and needs. Therapy emphasises collaboration with young people and their families to foster holistic growth and achieve therapeutic goals. Sessions focus on addressing mental health and developmental concerns, with the practice dedicated to providing comprehensive and supportive care that supports the social, emotional, and educational well-being of everyone.

  • Working with families

The practice believes in working collaboratively with parents, carers, teachers, and schools to support children's social, emotional, and educational development. When a child is a client, the psychologist often meets with parents or carers without the child present, which is particularly important in psychological care, and Medicare rebates are available for up to 2 of 10 sessions per calendar year for parent-only sessions. The team works closely with families and educators to promote growth and delivers practical, tailored recommendations that support parents and teachers in fostering positive outcomes. School consultation services also involve liaison with teachers, leadership and specialist support staff to develop individualised learning plans and recommendations to support student needs.

  • Meet the team

The team comprises five psychologists with strong qualifications and experience in educational and developmental psychology. Jennifer Politis is the Founder and Principal Psychologist with over 10 years of private practice experience, Board Approved Supervisor status, and postgraduate training from the University of Melbourne, where she supervises students. Amy Kieroe, Craig Hildebrand-Burke, Tamara Gnjatovic, and Catherine Tiffin are all registered psychologists trained in Educational and Developmental Psychology, with masters qualifications and experience working with children, adolescents, and families in school and clinical settings. All psychologists take collaborative, strengths-based and client-centred approaches, and several hold Board Approved Supervisor status, demonstrating their expertise and commitment to ongoing professional development.

  • Your first visit

New clients begin with a brief intake call with the Principal Psychologist, Jennifer, who will personally speak with you to understand your child's needs and help match them with the right psychologist. Following this, therapy sessions run for 50 minutes in duration. All assessments come with a thorough written report and include recommendations specific to the individual, along with a feedback session. The practice can arrange both in-person and online appointments, using end-to-end encryption telehealth software (COVIU) to protect your personal information. Contact the practice through their website or phone 0451 065 010 to book your initial appointment.
