  • Our approach

At Palm Tree Psychology, sessions are guided by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Humanistic Psychology, tailored to each person's individual needs, goals and circumstances. The practice embraces a compassion-focused philosophy where clients are encouraged to feel safe being themselves while discovering new parts of themselves and developing skills to live a meaningful life aligned with their values. Sessions can be conducted in person in the thoughtfully designed Fairfield consulting space—equipped with dimmable lights, sensory grounding tools, and comfortable blankets to help you feel calm and supported—or online via Telehealth. The approach is trauma-informed and neuroaffirming, meaning the psychologist works respectfully with neurodiversity and is culturally sensitive to each person's unique context.
