Our approach
Sessions at Little Steps Psychology integrate evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to each child's needs, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy. The psychologists adapt these through play-based and trauma-informed strategies that are developmentally appropriate and engaging, creating a warm and collaborative environment where children feel safe to express themselves. Parents are supported and informed throughout the process, with psychologists working closely with families to develop practical strategies for home, school and community settings. The approach recognises each child's unique story and supports emotional growth, confidence, resilience and positive coping skills. Sessions focus on helping children overcome challenges such as anxiety, behavioural difficulties, emotional regulation and learning challenges.
