  • Our approach

ESDM is a play-based, evidence-based intervention specifically designed for young children with autism and developmental delays. Sessions use child-led activities and joint-activity routines to foster natural engagement, focusing on learning through play with positive reinforcement rather than structured, therapist-led tasks. The approach targets multiple developmental domains including communication, social skills, joint attention, cognition, play, fine and gross motor skills, and personal independence. Unlike traditional ABA, ESDM uses a least-to-most prompting strategy to encourage genuine skill generalization across different environments and with various people. Sessions are tailored to each child's developmental level and interests, delivered in natural settings like home or preschool.

  • Working with families

Parents are actively involved from the very first appointment, being present throughout the initial consultation and completing questionnaires that inform the assessment. An initial report and personalized learning objectives are provided within one week, along with a welcome package containing detailed ESDM information, fees, and recommendations. The therapist collaborates with educators and families to promote consistency and continuity of support across home, preschool, and school environments, recognizing that interactional skills developed in therapy are important for success with siblings, extended family, and peers. Regular contact is maintained through a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation before beginning services, and ongoing communication supports parents in understanding their child's progress and learning goals.

  • Meet the team

The team is led by Chloe, the founder and a Certified Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) therapist, NDIS registered Behaviour Support Practitioner, and Early Intervention Consultant. She holds a Bachelor in Psychological Science from the University of New South Wales and has completed rigorous ESDM certification through UC Davis MIND Institute and the University of Wollongong, along with additional advanced training in autism, neurodiversity, and parent training programs. Chloe specializes in working with children with autism and has extensive experience supporting those with genetic disorders and developmental disabilities including ADHD, ADD, ODD, learning disabilities, and intellectual disabilities across diverse settings including homes, preschools, schools, clinics, and community environments.

  • Your first visit

The initial ESDM consultation lasts 1 to 1.5 hours and includes an informal play-based assessment using the ESDM Curriculum Checklist with pre-organized age-appropriate materials and toys. The certified therapist observes your child's communication, social interaction, play, and cognitive abilities in a natural setting, either at home or preschool, and also watches parent-child interaction briefly. Parents must be present throughout and complete the ESDM parent questionnaire to assess their child's developmental level. Following the assessment, you'll receive a detailed initial report within one week outlining your child's developmental progress, individualized learning objectives for each domain, therapy recommendations, and a welcome package with ESDM information and fee details.
