Leah Picking Occupational Therapy supports children and young people with neurodevelopmental disabilities through family centred practice. - Evidence based interventions to help children develop fine motor skills, play skills, cognitive skills, self care skills, and independence skills. Supports children with cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, developmental delay, genetic and chromosomal conditions, and neuromuscular disorders.

Our approach
Leah Picking Occupational Therapy operates using a family-centred, collaborative and goal-focused approach. Working as a mobile-based occupational therapist, sessions are delivered in your home or community settings, which allows therapy to be tailored to your child's real-world environment. This practice model enables the therapist to work alongside families to identify meaningful goals and support children and young people with neurodevelopmental disabilities in the contexts where they spend their time. The combination of extensive clinical experience across early childhood intervention, private practice, special schools and the disability sector ensures therapy is grounded in practical, family-directed outcomes.
Meet the team
Leah Picking is a sole practitioner occupational therapist who graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 1993 and has worked with children and young adults with physical disabilities throughout her career. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA), holds a Medicare provider number, and maintains a Working with Children Check. In addition to her private practice since 2010, Leah works as a sessional tutor in paediatrics at the Occupational Therapy School at Latrobe University. She is co-located with Speech Pathologist Jennifer Carlisle and maintains professional memberships with Occupational Therapy Australia, ARATA and AusACPDM.
