Our approach
Therapy is built on the DIR Floortime model, a developmental approach that helps children build connections, regulate emotions, and develop cognitive, motor and sensory skills through play. Sessions are playful and engaging, designed to motivate children since learning happens best when children are interested and having fun. The clinic uses a range of client-centred therapeutic interventions tailored to each child's specific needs and goals, looking at how a child functions across different environments—at home, school, childcare and in the community. Relationship and connection are central to all learning, with sessions designed around what interests the child. The practice is neurodiversity affirming, recognising that different brain types are valid and supporting children to flourish with the right supports.
Working with families
The practice values collaboration with families as central to achieving the best outcomes, involving shared information, inclusive decision-making, supportive communication and continuous feedback. Parents and carers are recognised as key people in a child's world, and the clinic works to foster these important relationships as part of the therapy process. Therapy is provided in locations that work for families—whether in the clinic sensory gyms, at childcare, kindergarten, schools or in the community. The practice maintains a close working relationship with parents and other professionals in the child's team to support the child's development across all environments.
