• Our approach

  Kumon is an individualised learning programme where students progress at their own pace through meticulously designed worksheets in mathematics and English. Sessions centre on the "just-right" level of study—material that sits between what is too easy and too difficult—which encourages children to think for themselves and develop self-learning ability. When students encounter new concepts, they study examples, draw on previous learning, and work through problems independently, receiving just enough guidance from the Instructor to solve them on their own. This approach fosters confidence, daily study habits, and academic progress beyond school grade level, with worksheets that develop not only strong calculation and reading skills but also essential study skills for lifelong learning.

• Working with families

  A partnership is formed between parent, student, and Kumon Instructor to fully pursue each child's potential and develop their ability to the maximum. The Instructor provides regular progress updates and acknowledges each student's individual growth with praise and encouragement, keeping parents informed of their child's advancement. Parents play an important role in supporting their child's daily study habit, as Kumon worksheets provide a simple, systematic approach that families can understand and reinforce at home. Through ongoing communication and collaboration, the centre works together with parents to ensure each child succeeds in their learning journey.

• Meet the team

  Kumon Instructors are the core of the teaching team and are responsible for discovering and drawing out each student's potential through careful observation and individualised instruction. Instructors create a personalised study plan for each student and provide effective support to ensure the child always studies material they are ready to learn next. They track and acknowledge each student's individual growth, offer praise and encouragement, and provide regular progress updates to families. The Instructor's role is to guide students just enough so they can solve problems independently, fostering self-learning ability and confidence in their academic abilities.

• Your first visit

  At the first appointment, parents attend a parent orientation session where they meet the Kumon Instructor and learn how the programme works and how it will help their child succeed. A free diagnostic assessment is conducted at this time to understand the child's current level and readiness. This initial meeting allows parents and the Instructor to connect and discuss how Kumon will support their child's individual learning journey. Following this orientation and assessment, the child can then begin their learning programme at Kumon.
