Our approach
Kinleap's therapy is play-based, movement-focused, and guided by a philosophy of "Kind. Clever. Together." Sessions are designed to feel like play while children work hard developing new skills through engaging activities that support motor, sensory, emotional, and functional development. The approach is neurodevelopmental and sensory-informed, always child-centred and strengths-based, with therapists acting as calm collaborators and creative problem solvers. Parents are encouraged to be present during 45-minute ongoing sessions to learn strategies they can continue at home, ensuring therapy translates into practical skills that support everyday life across home, school, and the community.
Working with families
Kinleap works closely with families as partners throughout your child's therapy journey. Parents are encouraged to be present during all 45-minute ongoing sessions so they can learn strategies and activities to continue at home, maximising the benefits of therapy. Beyond sessions, hybrid support models are available that combine therapy with parent consultations, ensuring parents feel well informed about their child's progress, goal development, and how to consistently implement recommendations across all environments. The service also offers individualised home programs, resources tailored to your child's interests, and education sessions for caregivers and educators designed to enhance understanding and collaboration.

Your first visit
Your first appointment begins with an Initial Parent Consult—a relaxed conversation where your therapist gathers the full picture of your child's developmental history, strengths, everyday challenges, and your hopes and goals. During the assessment itself, your therapist will chat with you about your child's needs, spend time building rapport with your child to help them feel safe and comfortable, and complete formal or informal assessments tailored to your child. Sessions finish with a fun activity to support future engagement, and can typically be completed over one or two sessions depending on your child's age and complexity of needs. After assessment, you'll have a parent feedback session to discuss results and plan next steps, and you'll receive a clear, easy-to-understand report with personalised, practical recommendations for supporting your child's growth at home and school.
